Green Acre Capital has announced that its new private equity fund, the Green Acre Capital Fund, which is dedicated to investing in the legal cannabis industry, has received investment commitments from Aphria and York Plains Investment Corp. Aphria CEO and Chairman VIc Neufield, as an advisor to Green Acre Capital along with York Plains’ Managing Director Shawn Dym.
The fund will invest primarily in private companies, but will pursue investments across numerous verticals in the cannabis industry.
Aphria (APHQF) provides a variety of medicinal cannabis products including cannabis capsules, oral solutions, and THC and CBD vaporizers. As of January 3, 2017 Aphria stock traded at $3.81 with a market cap of over $500 million.
Green Acre Capital is a Canadian venture/private equity investor in the legal cannabis markets.
